The innovative Cognex vision system combines 3D laser displacement technology with a smart industrial camera that allows factory technicians to quickly and accurately solve a wide variety of inspections.
The high quality of the inspection is due to the patented speckle-free blue laser optics. Thanks to this system it is possible to acquire images of higher quality than traditional laser displacement sensors. This laser optics minimize speckle and glare, common problems in 3D laser systems.

Compared to traditional 3D systems which transform its 3D images into a representational 2D height map for basic tool processing, the In-Sight 3D-L4000 allows a real 3D inspection, thus increasing the accuracy of the result.

This industrial smart camera designed by Cognex combines 2D In-Sight tools, which work on an image of intensity, with 3D tools (including PatMax3D) to solve a wider variety of applications. For example PatMax3D evolves the standard for pattern matching and part location. It ensures all vision tools are in the correct location to accurately inspect the part on a 3D image.
