INDUSTRIAL NETWORK COMMUNICATION

As Phoenix Contact teaches us, the entire corporate communication system needs to be interconnected in order to ensure the information flow and control the complexity of high-performance Ethernet networks.
The networks’ interconnection can be done by electric, optical or wireless tools.
First of all, it is important to start with the consideraton of the physical structure of the application: mechanical and regulatory constraints, the human-machine interface, the workstations and the ergonomic aspects. As soon as the evaluations of the physical structure are carried out, we should added the system constraints: the vertical connections and the data flow.

The VRRP protocol (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) allows you to connect router to your industrial network. Gigabit performance ensures a high data flow rate, while IT support ensures a perfect integration (eg VLAN, SNMP, RSTP).

Managed Switches guarantee a permanent communication in the industrial environment. They have some important features such as monitoring and diagnostics, the possibility of configuring the rapidity, the output type, the implementation of the LAN and management of redundant paths, in addition to the basic functions of the Unmenaged Switches. Today production activity requires both Managed and Unmanaged Switches and integrates individual machines into a higher level network, determining the need of increasing Ethernet network, paying more attention to network security, more diagnostics and short time plants restoration.

So why is the use of smart switches essential? Because they manage configuration and monitoration of the machine network. Thanks to the Multicast filters it will be possible to reduce the data load in the network, maintaining communication even in case of unwanted loops or equipment failures.

On the other hand a new technology has been introduced for the industrial wireless network: MIMO technology (multiple input multiple output). It is more reliable and guarantees more network-infrastructure coverage. Wireless Ethernet systems of Phoenix Contact ensure reliable communication even under critical conditions and are optimized for stable and fast PROFINET and EtherNet / IP  transmission.

INDUSTRIAL BLUETOOTH
The EPA modules combine a radio module with a special integrated antenna, allowing the creation of a secure communication
Main feature: transparent Ethernet Communication Protocol and parallel functioning without interruptions for WLAN networks

INDUSTRIAL WLAN
WLAN 1100 radio module allows you to install a stable and fast WLAN network on the machine. The central cluster management of the WLAN Access Point 5100 facilitates the configuration and maintenance of large WLAN networks
