Rockwell Automation created this application to help technicians speed up the development of automation systems in the design of an increasingly connected production activity.
A few years ago Studio 5000 Logix Designer was introduced: it is a design and maintenance software of the Logix5000 family of Allen-Bradley controllers. The software is used to configure all automation, process, batch, motion, drive and safety applications. Thanks to this software it is possible to simplify the design process:
- vision of the code focused on the application;
- work flow improved for a more effective reuse of contents;
- collaborative tools that make cooperation between people easier.
Cooperation between people means multi-user collaboration, thus simplifying workflows and combining functionality. The Logix Designer software allows you to easily configure automation devices and to program them using the most user-friendly language.
To improve safety, Rockwell Automation has added security content to the Studio 5000 Logix Designer application. The idea was to guarantee manufacturers the protection of the design and the execution of Logix content. How can they do that? By limiting the visibility and the alteration of the source code and the possibility of copying the code in a machine not of own production.
With Studio 5000 Logix Designer it is possible to control system changes thanks to secure access within the application in order to efficiently manage its control systems.
